OMNInet Fiber Optic Modules

The FC101MM is the multi-mode fiber module and the FC101SM is the single-mode fiber module. The FC101 is the primary network interface module performing the "T" tap function on the fiber optic network and handles all POP Hub backplane management and timing functions. Each FC101 module represents 1/8 of the total network bandwidth.
System configuration, control and monitoring information is communicated using a USB connection between the host PC and the FC101 module.

- Operates at near OC3 level with 147.456Mb/s effective rate, including overhead
- Built-in redundant operation
- Realigns information coming from various non-aligned sources to the backplane timing
- System configuration information stored in non-volatile memory
- Standard multi-mode module operates at distances up to 2km with optical budget of 10dB
- Standard single-mode module operates at distances up to 15km
- Extended distances for single-mode operations are available

- Standard emission wavelength = 1310nm
- Recommended Cable: Multimode- 50/125 or 62.5/125 micron graded index, Singlemode- 8/125 Micron graded index.
