
SmartBuss AVIO 14 Hub
The AVIO 14 Hub is a high-capacity, high-performance node in the SmartBuss Network that accommodates up to 14 cards including a SmartBuss SB101xx Network Card and any combination of media I/O cards. The System Hub operates as a "T" tap on the network providing connectivity for hundreds of video, audio, and data I/O devices.In a simple network multiple SmartBuss AVIO units are connected in a “Daisy Chain” topology, using standard Cat5 Network cable. The Cat5 connection methodology consists of an Upstream Main Feed and a Downstream Return Feed. One Hub is addressed as Node 0 and generates the networks Primary Reference Clock (PRC). This PRC ensures that all downstream units synchronize to the same clock domain providing deterministic throughput latency and stability necessary for I/O conversion and add/drop channel mapping across the network fabric. All upstream/downstream connections are bi-directional with add/drop functions performed along the Downstream Chain.
Each SB101xx network card includes a UDP Ethernet Control Port used by the SmartPath application to configure AVIO Hubs on the SmartBuss network. All AVIO Hubs are shipped to the system integrator with the required I/O cards pre-installed and tested.
