The AVIO Edge Server is a half rack space node configured with two, 4 channel audio Input or Output modules. Configurations include 8 inputs, 8 outputs or 4 in x 4 out. Front panel display LED's indicate signal levels and network status. Network configuration is accomplished using the API control port which is a 12.288Mb/s bi-directional data channel for IMT's PathMaster application. Each Edge Server has an 8 bit DIP node address and up to 256 hardware addressed or 32,000 software addressed nodes can be configured on a common network. Dual-redundant and counter rotating ring configurations ensure fail-safe operations in compliance with EN60849 standards. Cat5 cabling with 100 meter hops is standard and the optional gigabit fiber interface extends the distance to 10Km.
The Edge Server is powered from an external 24 VDC PSU that is included. Optional rack ears are available for bolting 2 units together forming a 1U assembly. Rack ears with a filler plate are used for mounting a single half space unit. All line level audio I/O is by dismountable phoenix style connectors.
